Chapter 01 · Gamo Zone · South Ethiopia
Arba Minch
Where water shapes the city
The place
In Arba Minch, green ridges, groundwater forest and the worlds of Lakes Abaya and Chamo meet.
I moved from the wide landscape into the shade of tangled forest, where water runs over dark stone. The Forty Springs and nearby Nech Sar make this one of southern Ethiopia’s most layered natural destinations.
The scale changes quickly here: a mountain becomes a canopy, and a landscape becomes the sound of a small stream. I wanted to remember both.
